Paper Piecing

Good afternoon to all of you,

It's a very sunny Sunday here in France and it's also time for a new challenge at IDIC. And this week we are sponsored by Dearie Dolls Digi Stamps. The winner will be able to choose 5 Digi stamps from the store.

This week it has been a new one for me....We have to do "Paper piecing". My first reaction was "Quezaco????" (meaning what is that.) Hopefully Susan our stunning "DT Chef" gave us a few site to go and look at and Christine in her "CHRISTINE'S AWESOME FRIDAY." gave us a tutorial..... But it still took me nearly all afternoon to make my card.

I cut my card with my "Label 21" from Spellbinders, than I cut my digi stamp with a smallest Die. I first colour my "mouse" with my Spectrum Noir in the following tone : WG 0,5 and WG 1. After I begin the "best" bit....Cutting the different pieces....You defo need very good scissors....

Here a closer look at it. The section I have paper pieced are, the leaves and the pod with 2 different green and the flower with some purple paper. And "just" that took me all afternoon.....!!!!!  Ok, I probably shouldn't say it....But for my first attempt, I am proud of what I have created.

Hope you will find time and have fun making a card to share with us.

Happy crafting!!!!

  1. This is a beautiful card. The colors are perfect and the paper piecing is terrific. I would never have thought this was your first attempt. Great job!

  2. First time using this method and your result is perfect, luv it. Cheers Sue N x

  3. Laurence, I love your card! You did a terrific job for your first time paper piecing. You'll get faster at it with practice. If you buy new scissors get some with a sharp point on the end. They work best. Thanks for sharing your adorable card. Edwina Brown
